Bob Johnson, Head Coach (1999 - 2017)

During his career, Coach Johnson amassed an incredible record of  345–95–1, making him the all-time win leader in Orange County and third most winningest coach in the State of California.

During Coach Johnson's reign, Diablo teams won a staggering 14 League Championship, 5 CIF Southern Section Championships and a State Championship in 2015.

In 2009, Coach Johnson was named the NFL High School Coach of the Year and in 2016 was named to the California High School Hall of Fame.

Other notable achievements by Coach include founding the Elite 11 National Quarterback Camp in 1999, serving as the Nike National Football Camp Coordinator from 1996 to 2010, and heading up the US Army All-American Bowl team in 2011.

Prior to taking over the MIssion program in 1999, Coach Johnson was the head coach of El Toro High School from 1978 to 1990, where he won 3 CIF Championships and coached in two Orange County All-Star football games.     Prior to El Toro, Coach began his coaching career at Los Amigos High School from 1968 to 1973.

With everything that Coach has done for Mission Football and High School Football overall these past 50+ years, Coach would say however his greatest accomplishment would be his Marriage to his wife Debbie of over 50 years, in addition to their two boys Bret and Rob, and their five grandchildren (Brock, Ciera, Tatum, Presley, Bo and Duke).

Thank you Coach Johnson for everything you have done for Mission Football.
